n memory of Ian Stapp
This past week we were informed of the passing of Ian Stapp our Bass Player. We’ve been devastated by the horrific news learned of him taking his own life in Central Park last Monday. Ian was just 37 years of age.
Ian was a wonderfully dedicated member of our band. Talented and extraordinarily kind, he was the one musician in our group we could always count on. From 2020-2023 he toured with us playing apple orchards, beer halls, festivals and even boardwalk concerts on the Jersey Shore.
Ian was a gentle soul, never complained and always focused on the music at hand. The last time we all spoke (last weekend) he was looking forward to playing with us on Dec 23rd.
We never saw any signs of his anguish, which makes this all the more puzzling. We’re shocked, perplexed and very disillusioned.
His parents Scott and Jennifer Stapp (Arizona) have written these words for all to view:
”Thank you for your caring & friendship. Please keep supporting live music…Ian first started learning stand up bass at Hummingbird music camp in 6th grade @ Jemez New Mexico. His performance was Van Morrison “moon dance” our favorite”
As we sort through this difficult time, we’d like to let you know that our performance on SAT DEC 23rd, will be dedicated to Ian. Any cards or mementos brought in his honor will be mailed on to his parents (in ARIZONA)
